Type and Volume Service-sector offices / 344,00 sq. mt.

A favorite touristic destination of Dubai, with its 829,80 meters the Burj Khalifa is the tallest skyscraper in the world to date and the tallest structure ever made by man. Symbol of modernity and luxury, the building was inaugurated in 2010 after 6 years of construction works. It consists of 344,000 square meters of floor area for commercial and residential use.

Considering its dimensions and the prestige of the construction – it was commissioned by sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Āl Maktūm, emir of Dubai and current Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates – fire prevention became one of the most important focuses for the engineers and architects working on the Burj Khalifa.

For the purpose of guaranteeing high levels of safety, reduced installation times and cutting-edge technical solutions, both planning and installation of the fire-prevention system were assigned to Nafco, Giacomini’s exclusive distributor for the Dubai area.

Nafco created special pressurized and fireproof shelters every 25 floors; they are provided with an HVAC system and the required technical rooms that house tanks, water pumps and electric substations.
